Membership in the American Guild of Organists is open to all professional organists and choir directors, students, and organ enthusiasts alike, regardless of musical ability or denominational affiliation.
Categories of membership are outlined below. Most of our members have an active date of membership that runs from July 1 through June 30. The American Organist magazine is included in the subscription. You may join at anytime of the year and your membership is for twelve months beginning the date National receives payment.
Member benefits at the national level include subscription to The American Organist magazine, special member rates for national and regional conventions, resources for education and professional development, and availability of professional certification and group insurance plans. The Sarasota-Manatee Chapter benefits by way of this website include notification of chapter programs, an up to date password protected Members Directory, a list of available positions, a listing of our Substitute Musicians, and the Montre, our newsletter. Members may list themselves as teachers for an instrument or voice, advertise community events, and sell musical items in the classified section. Members can be directed for help with becoming certified, receive support for local contracts, pay scales and other professional concerns.
